UnPlanned Imagery

Some of the best moments in life are the ones you never saw coming.

That's the idea behind Unplanned Imagery. No staged shots. No forced moments. Just a camera, open eyes, and whatever happens next — whether that's a musician lost in the music, a city glowing at 2am, a sky full of stars in the middle of nowhere, or an animal living completely in the moment the way only animals can.

Unplanned Imagery is the work of Kyle Stevenson, a photographer based in southern Wisconsin shooting live music, night landscapes, the quiet beauty of travel, and the animals that share our lives. Still learning the craft every single day, and not ashamed to say it. The eye for the right moment was always there. The rest is just practice.

From day one, Kyle has gifted free prints to the artists he shoots, fellow photographers, and complete strangers. Not for business. Just for the look on someone's face when they hold a photo of themselves or their world and see it differently.

Kyle is also a vocal advocate for men's mental health and suicide awareness — causes that are deeply personal to him. He believes that showing up, being honest, and sharing your story matters. That belief shows up in every photo he takes.

A special part of this work is dedicated to Onxy — a black Lab who was by Kyle's side for 12 years. She was there through the highest moments and the darkest ones. She helped him find photography. She helped him find his way back. There is an entire gallery on this site dedicated to her life, her story, and the unplanned moments they shared together. She deserves every bit of it.
