About Kyle Stevenson — UnPlanned Imagery
I’m not a photographer who planned any of this.
I picked up a camera because life put me through enough to make me start paying attention to moments before they disappear. A near fatal car accident that flatlined me on the way to the hospital changed how I see everything. When you get that close to losing it all you stop taking moments for granted.
I’ve been through things most people don’t talk about. The kind of stuff that stays quiet because silence feels safer than saying it out loud. I know what it’s like to be in the dark and not know how to ask for help. That’s part of why I shoot the way I do — I’d rather show something real than pretend everything is fine.
Through most of that journey I had Onxy. My black lab. My constant. She didn’t just share my life — she helped save it. She’s gone now and I carry her with me in every frame I take.
I shoot live music, travel, nature, animals, and whatever moves me in between. Not because I planned a career around it. Because it’s the only way I know how to tell the truth about what I see.
If you’re going through something and need someone to talk to — reach out. No judgment. Just an honest conversation.
No plans. Just the right moment.
